Well I have had these two clowns since june and today I come home to find that they are both behind the tank stand dried up. I have a glass top but there is a small cut out in the plastic where the filter has to go into the water. I have had this same top for years and never lost a fish. I recently moved in with my gf who has a cat. Beginning to wonder if she is the culprit just because two in one night????Just thinkin she got her paws in there and pulled them out and then was unable to get them from behind the tank. Anyways I hate seeing anything die and especially the way they did. Guess its time to secure those small holes with something.

I've often seen fish that will swim furiously against a current. Maybe the clowns did this, against the water from the filter. Really sorry for your loss. :(

Never lost a clown like that but have lost a couple of firefish gobies that jumped through a hole I never thought they would go through. I hate loosing fish. hope you are going to get some more if so, GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am sorry for your loss. I know what it is like losing fish to this. I have only been in this hobby for 1.5 years and have lost 5 fish in 3 separate tanks. I have had lids on the tanks in some of the cases as well. One fish actually jumped while my girlfriend was looking at the tank, so we were able to save that one, which is still alive today.

It's just weird both jumped the same night? I just thought that how they come strait to my hand anytime it was in the tank that they may have done the same to the cats paw and then found the claws.
