My lovey little Tridacna clam that I bought a few weeks ago and was doing so well suddenly died. It was definitely my fault. I noticed a little Aiptasia bugger on its shell last night. I got out the Joe's juice to kill the hitchhiker pest. I accidently released a few extra puffs of the juice into the water column over the clam and apparently it inhaled some into its opening. I noticed it looked pretty stressed late last night. Came home from work today to see several hermit crabs crawling on it. Its mantle was fully retracted and when I pulled it out it smelled really bad- obviously dead. This reminds me how important it is to be careful with Joe' juice and hopefully someone else can avoid the same mistake. I think I will look to replace it with a similar Tridacna if I can find one or maybe a nice small tiger Derasa.
