Ripped off foot

I have a small 3 inch maxima that had been attached to a rock for about a week. Today i found the clam on the sand bed with its foot lying next to it torn off. there is now a hole where you can see through from mantle to sand bed. Assuming now both a) it cant move and b) its probably going to die, i put it facing up in the sand bed so it could enjoy its last few days. since it fell it hasnt extended its mantle more than 1 or 2 mm beyond its shell. Params are all in check and everything else in the tank is fine.

My question is, is there any chance for my clam?

if it just let go of it byssal threads the clam will recover(white stringy looking clump)but if the whole byssal gland came out then there is a good chance that the clam will die

yesterday it let go of everything....

this morning it looked like it did last night. I just got back from work and the mantle and everything else was shrivled up inside. it was like bristle worm city in there. somehow, my scooter blenny also ended up inside and suffered the same bristleworm wrath. He wasnt the smartest in the tank but he was darn entertaining to watch. Was not a good night for my reef.

I've had clams move around before, but they just drop their byssal threads and move along. I wonder how the clam got a hard enough hit to have its innards removed. I am pretty sure this wouldn't be possible on its own.
