Rising Ca

Like the title says. My Ca is currently rising yet I'm not dosing any Ca. I do dose Red Sea Energy but I don't think it has Ca in it. Maybe I'm wrong. Help me out. Also I'm testing Alk and Ca with Hannah Checkers.

Tank is IM Nuvo 20, AI Prime, Red Sea Salt
ALk 8.6
Ca 587 was 556 Monday
Mg 1380

I think it's just amino acids and other junk, not alk/calc.

Could it be due to water evaporation? Also, the Hanna meters aren't known to be super reliable with calcium so it could be a testing error.

Calcium is very difficult to get accurate results from hobby grade tests.
I would just keep an Eye on the situation for now.
Maybe something in the RS is affecting the testing results other than CA

I have an ATO so my levels stay fine. Skimmers been acting crazy so my salinity was a bit low. I thought Hannah Checkers was top tier testing.

Hanna checkers are good for alkalinity and phosphates (and phosphorus), not very goon IMHO for calcium. The required dilution in the calcium checker makes it nearly impossible to get accurate readings. Salifert or Red Sea Pro test kits are much easier to get good readings from. What salt mix are you using? You may need to switch away from a salt that is high in calcium if you are currently using a "reef" salt mix (and your test results turn out to be accurate).

No Ive just been using the Red Sea Salt not the Coral pro. Its what my LFS uses. I saw reefgurls video about needing distilled water over DI so I've been using that. I'm kinda bummed to find out the Ca checker is crap.
