Riviera Maya

Going to Riviera Maya in June and trying to find a resort that has great snorkeling right off the beach. Any suggestions?

My parents were just at the Dreams just south of Playa Del Carmen (Puerto Aventuras?) and were able to snorkel off the shore.

We stayed at El Cid last year and couldn't snorkel off the shore but the reef was a very short trip away on a boat the resort runs out of the marina.

A few years ago I went to a resort called Grand Serenis. It had nice snorkeling right off the beach.

Palladium has great snorkling right of the beach

Choose a hotel that you like based on accomodation, facilities etc and then catch the ferry to Cozumel.

If you have time, go to Cozumel. It's 20 min ferry from Playa. Diving/snorkeling was amazing when I went last year.

Right next to El Cozumelino is an abandoned hotel. the snorkling there was awesome. Chankanab park was pretty cool too.

Went to Cozumel two years ago, loved it. Looking for a resort in Riviera Maya that I can just go right off the beach anytime, rather than taking a ferry. Thanks again

+1. I recently went to the grand sirenis in June. It was very beautiful n fun. They have a reef right off the beach. And if u pay $40 to the guys selling swimming with turtles activity on the beach they will take u to a wonderful boat ride to Cozumel(turtle bay) for a wonder snorkling adventure to see the reef and swim with wild GIANT sea turtles.

WE just got back from Cancun and had an amazing time snorkeling off the beach in Akumal. Lots of fish and swimming with sea turtles everywhere> Loved it. You won't be disappointed. If you go and you see the Sea Turtle with the missing foot can say hi from Pete?
