RKL upgrade or apex?

I currently have the reefkeeper lite plus controller system on my tank and it's been doing everything I planned for it to do perfectly for over a year now. I was recently thinking of adding the net module so I can receive alerts on my iPhone and such. But I have also been kicking around the idea of just switching over to apex all together for the iPhone connectivity and all the bells and whistles. So my questions is should I upgrade my reefkeeper and not have to go through switching controllers? Or am I wasting $120 on something that I'll eventually switch out for an apex anyway? Any opinions welcome :) thanks!

Side note I also have a bunch of cheato that I will be trimming this week if anyone is looking for some free cheato

I went thru the same thought process recently. I have three RKL, love them and i have never had any issues BUT, I just ordered a apex. It finally came down to the fact that I couldn't add anymore to the RKL, I also wanted to add the net and or wireless but couldn't with out much more cost. By the time I looked at everything I wanted to do I was into the total$$$ of an apex+ I figure that I could just sell the RKLs to recoup some of my money back.

Just my opinion.

Went through the same thing.. Except I had a full RK. Parted it out and sold off, got apex. I don't remember all the reasons, but a big part of it was the software on the Apex. I would def. do it again. Check out the fusion GUI interface coming out on apex, its that future proof and software improvements/flexibility that help you get the most out of the controller.
