RO/DI and TDS Meter Readings

I've been having issues with my tank lately and I think it has to do with my RO/DI. I have the 75 GPD BRS 4 stage filter. I had replaced the filters on it about 4 months ago but in the time I made a TON of water so it made sense when the TDS reading showed 1. Thing is, it continued to show "1" for like 6 weeks. In that time, I continued using the water it was making and my tank has suffered, mostly SPS.

I just replaced all the parts, the sediment filter, carbon and DI with this kit from Marine Depot:

Everything went in fine except the resin which doesn't fit the BRS canister. I had to cut the Marine Depot resin open and manually feed it into the BRS canister.

Anyhow, I just ran the RO/DI with the new filters for about 20 minutes and the TDS meter reads 9. What gives. Is the TDS meter going wonky? I did have the unit sitting on my patio and got a tiny bit of algae at the bottom of one of the canisters but I fully cleaned each of them while replacing the filters.

Can I use the water its making?

Have you calibrated the tds meter lately? It could be swinging. Also how packed is the di resion? It needs to be very tight or it wont work properly.

I have not calibrated the the TDS meter and did not know I could. I'll look for instructions on BRS's website.

Yeah I packed the DI resin super tight.

I mean, I feel like the water should be okay to use?

I really couldnt say for certanty if its ok to use or not without knowing if the tds meter is correct or not.

You can buy calibration fluid for the tds meter and then there is a small screw on the back of the meter to adjust it.
