RO/DI and water pressure question

I just moved my Spectrapure RO/DI unit. Where i moved it to I put a Y off of the cold water spigot going to a washing machine. When the washing machine is running in certain cycles i notice the pressure drops to 30 every now and then.

My well typically produces 50-55 psi...i know that wont give me maximum output, but i know it is enough to operate the unit properly.

What happens specifically when you drop below the minimum required operating PSI like that in concern to how the unit functions????

You will be fine. It will not make as much water during low pressure periods but it won't hurt it. Even on a municipal water system I see the same thing when my washer fills or the sprinklers come on.
