RO/DI Booster Pump Question

Bought a booster pump which arrived today. Of course it came with instructions of how to hook it up but not how to adjust it. This bump has two adjustments possible. One is a chrome knob that will allow water to bypass the pump which in turn allows you the ability to adjust the pressure going in to the RO/DI unit. The second is a pressure switch that is supposed to cut off when the water pressure? A> Reaches a Max setting point or B> Pressure is reduced thereby turning off the pump when the water is turned off such as with a flow valve and shutoff valve. Not really sure if it is A or B. Either way I cannot get this pressure switch to work. If I adjust it to one direction while the unit is running, the pump turns off and if I back that adjustment down then the pump will run and create pressure to the RO System. When I turn the water completely off the pump will continue to run. When I put a float valve on the discharge if the system and close the float valve, the pump continues to run.

Maybe I am just having a case of dumb *** today but I can't figure this one out. Can anyone enlighten me P L E A S E !!!!

I'm not sure what kind of a pressure switch they gave you, but I'll tell you what I have, and what I'm most familiar with. The pressure switch is a small black looking thing with 2 wires coming out of it. It has an inlet and outlet for the water line to splice in to. It's basically a type of spring inside that will make it lose the connection of the electrical wires when the water pressure of your tank is met around 30 psi. Once your water tanks pressure drops to about 20 psi, it creates the electrical connection for your pump to start again.
Make sure this type of switch is installed between your RO outlet and water reservoir.

That's the trick to getting it working - assuming your RO has an ASOV.
