RO/DI Faucet Setup - Temporary use?

This may possibly be a stupid question, but I have no experience with my own RO/DI unit. Is it possible to set up a unit on my kitchen faucet and take it down after use? I know most people like to use a long term setup but I don't have anywhere to setup a permanent system. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Yes. I typically like to use the bathroom, so I can place the unit and water inside the bathtub. This will help alleviate numerous flood scenarios. You will want to use the bathroom faucet for hookup and either of these:

I personally use the garden hose adapter and use a quick connect/disconnect faucet adapter from Home Depot. You have to unscrew the faucet outlet and screw in the adapter each time (takes 5 seconds) but on the water filter side you just screw in the adapter one time and then it quick connects/disconnects to the faucet side.

I guess it depends on your unit and the fitting it comes with.

My Spectrapure MaxCap system came with a fitting to connect to the garden hose, but they make other fittings as well so you can connect to a kitchen faucet or even tap into a copper water line.

You should be able to find some adapters at your local hardware store for a short-term basis, but they might leak a little. Use teflon tape.

Sounds good to me, thanks for the input. Is there any particular brand that works better than another or any vendor in particular you'd recommend?
