When hooking an ro for auto top off do you guys recomend conecting it directly to the sump or to a resorvoir tank that will the top off the sump?
Please let me know how you guy have it hooked up since I am a little confused..
thanks

To a resevoir tank.

If your resevoir tanks pump, or float swithc, sticks only a certain amount of water enters your system, which "can" be disastrous depending on system size and resevoir size.

If it is plumbed directly to the sump and the switch fails, not only will it eventually overflow your system, your salinity will bottom out, losing everything.

kool so what will i need. A resevoir tank, float switch for the resevoir tank and what do use for the sump then?

For the sump?
I don't quite understand what you mean.
Are you wanting a recommendation on a float sensor/pump setup to top off your sump?

My personal recommendation is the Tunze osmolator.
They cost about $140 but are well worth it.
I've been using one for years without any problem at all.

Ask around about them.

How loud is the Tunze osmolator? I heard pretty good review on it but people seem to complain a bit of how loud it runs.

Is yours in a basement or a dedicated fishroom?

Mine is in the garage but they are very quiet and only on as needed...a few seconds at a time.
The pump is very small and lighter than a mj1200.
