RO/DI. . . is this ok?

IMO, that is too expensive for what you are getting.

Could get a Buckeye 75 GPD one for $170, that is what I have been using.

The second one on this page

Thanks everyone! why is the kent marine so expensive? compared to the other ones you have shown me? is it a name brand thing?

Yes its more of a brand name thing than anything. Kent makes a lot of products and i'm sure just like the rest of their product line, this RODI unit is a good, quality system. But with RODI units, they are fairly basic and should never be that expensive. You will get the exact same quality system from Buckeye or BRS for half the price. Trust me, there is plenty of other things to spend the extra $ on in this hobby.

LOL sounds like a plan then i'll go w/ the 5 stage system that someone recomended then. . . and i'd love to spend the extra cash on something better!

One thing I didn't realize when I was first shopping for RO/DI units - verify with your local water supply that there are no chlormines in it. I found out my tap water had chloromine added which was lucky because I hadn't placed the order yet.

I googled "water quality report" and my city name. In my case it took me to my city's homepage, where I typed in "water quality report" in the homepage's search bar. It led me directly to it. Fortunately in ours it says directly in our report that they use Chloromines.

If you're having a problem finding the info., you can call the public services of your city and ask them for the information. But hopefully it'll be available online for you.

Well, I checked online and I found this on my city's water report page . . ."To reduce the formation of disinfection byproducts, the City of Kingsville switched to chloramines for water disinfection. Chloramines are a combination of chlorine and liquid ammonium sulfate.":thumbdown
