RO/DI question

Got my brs system in the other day and hooked it up tonight. It says my tds coming in is 001 and coming out is 000. Do you think my water is this clean or is my tds meter messed up?

Not sure what BRS system you have, or how the TDS meter is hooked up, but *most* of the dual TDS meter systems measure the water coming in to the DI, and going out of the DI. That way, you know how much your RO membrane is taking out and when your DI is going bad.

Most likely, the first number is the TDS of the water coming out of the RO membrane. It's *not* the TDS of your tap water. The second number is your output, or the TDS coming out of the DI.

Again... just guessing on this, but this is normally how dual TDS meters are hooked up.

The instructions on the BRS website indicate the TDS meter is measuring across the DI stage as Kurt described above.

Kurt is correct. I thought the same when I got my unit (same one from BRS). The higher the TDS coming into your DI filter is more likely that it is being used faster. Also I MO changes in this number getting larger could also mean it's time to change your carbon blocks and sediment filters. As long as your 0 coming out you're in good shape.

Don't feel bad I was in her same boat and questioning if I even needed the system. Now you know for sure

The only dumb questions are the ones never asked.
That's(and other thing of course) what these forums are.
Plenty of knowledgeable people willing to help.
