I opened my RO/DI unit today and the fitting between the poly and carbon canisters was broken. It's 1/4" to 1/4" hex nipple. I can't find one in plastic at any of the local hardware stores, but I did find one in brass. Would it be ok to use brass on my RO/DI unit?
I would definitely not use brass.. if you just bought it and it came in broken, why not return it or request a replacement part from the manufacturer? I know it's more work.. but I'd assume there's a reason why all ro units have plastic parts..
Now Now....don't jump to conclusions  I already have a replacement fitting coming from the company. I was just wondering if that would work in the meantime. I'm just anxious to get my tank filled. I was pretty sure it wouldn't be a good idea, but I had to ask.
