I just set up an ro/di unit and after running it for about 2 hours the tds resding is still 270ppm. Is this normal? It is a 6 stage unit and the tds of the water going in is 759ppm.
are you sure you are testing the product water and not the rejection line although with that high of a tds going in that might be all you will get. If you use di resins they will most surly be exausted quick .Ask PURLY H20 he will know and give you a solution to your problem
Unfortunately nothingis adding up at all with these numbers. What youneed to do is remove the membrane from the housing and write down what it sais on it and let me know. Then we need to see what the waste to product ratio is. Also as stated above you DI is going to be extremely expensive due to these numbers.
You can call me tomorrow if you need to so I can help you troubleshoot the issue. Probably just a mis configuration..
I just ordered a new 75gpd Ro Membrane and a dual DI unit from your company. Ship it out fast please!
I called and the man who answered the phone was an extreme help. He told it like it was. I bought a @#@#itty unit from ebay which is a chinnese knock off and only designed for drinking water notr reef tanks.
He said with the dow filmtec 75gdp membrane and the dual RI units I should have a reading close to 0!
Ugh more reason to spend the money for a quality RO/DI unit. Sorry to hear about your problem dstalfire.
I too ordered my membrane refills from Bryan at H2O, 4 of them in fact.
You'll see the improvement right away after you lose the preservation coating.
