hey guys, as you may know...i got in on the group order for a typhoon III...and i have a few questions

anywho, after im done filling up what i need.....am i supposed to open up each of the filters and pour out the water thats in it?....or do i keep it in there.......if so, is it supposed to be connected to the waterline at all times?

If you can, it is easiest to keep it hooked up to the water all the time. I can't remember if the Typhoon III comes with a float valve or not, but you can hook the output of the RO/DI up to a float valve that is mounted in a water container, and then the RO/DI runs until the container is full and then automatically shuts down. This way you always have fresh RO/DI ready. You leave the water in the cannisters (don't take them apart unless you are chaning out the filters).

no, not that i know of...if it did i couldnt hear it....cause i was filling up my jugs outside from the hose....and when our hose is turn on, it makes noises thru my house pipes

yours didnt seem that loud...what it not just the water moving thru it?

Dang... I did give you the one with a hose adapter, didn't I? My bad, man... I'll have to switch out with you.

Its not too bad at all... I just thought I read in the manual it wasn't supposed to make any noise at all. Seems like that one back-flush valve makes all the noise that comes from it.

Jack... does yours make noise?

Mind sounds like air and water mixing.

The only noise I hear is water mixing through, what noise are you talking about??? My only doubt with this RO/DI system is the DI resign is turning color at a early stage.....I may have to give'em a call Monday morning..........

The noise you hear is likely the auto shutoff valve. It can take a couple of days for any air that was in it to wash out. Give it a couple of days and see what happens.

Interesting Mike... keep us updated on the DI. Its a sound of water and air, so I'll bet its just the Auto Shut Off Valve like Jack mentioned... now that you mention it, I remember something about it in the manual I believe.

If you run the initial output through the DI, it will get used up pretty quickly. You have to waste the first 3 gallons or so. That said, the resin can also settle some. The anion and cation beads are different colors, and if they settle out some it looks like a color change is beginning.

I did everything the direction said to do. I wasted however amount of water in the time frame that was given in the directions. I believe it was 5 min run on RO and Auto flush, then 5 min on just RO, something like that.....It started turning brown on the bottom of the DI resign and it's moving up. I think I've been using it for about 3 months now. The water coming out from RO is usually around 2-3ppm and water coming out from DI is 0. Now it's running from 0-1ppm after DI.....
