RO DI recommendation

looking to hook up a RO DI system in my house for my 46 gal tank; I have a 20 gal sump.

good recommendations for filtering city of Chicago water? 3 stage? 4 stage?

A 4 stage from BulK Reef Supply is what I have. Spectrapure, Buckeye Hydro and The Filter Guys are other companies you can look into also.

I bought an iSpring from amazon because I use it for my drinking water too. 6 stage, comes with a tank, for under 200. They have cheap replacement filters as well.

Cheap replacement filters can get you into problems.
You need to check the micron ratings, they are not all the same.

I have a spare unit just laying around. You need to buy new membrane and filters for it though. It was a good unit but I upgraded to a larger double unit to keep up with our well water.
In my experience, the units are pretty much the same (water tight canisters) and it is the filters and membrane that make them good or poor.
I am around the Chicago area on Tuesdays for work. $40 and it is all yours.
