Ro/di unit water pressure

This isn't usually an option. Whatever the pressure your house's plumbing is at is all you'll be able to run the filter at... unless you have a booster pump. My pressure was always at 40 psi which is on the low side. Flitered the water fine, but it took a long time and there was a lot of waste water that didn't make it throgh the membrane and went down the drain. I bought a booster pump from bulkreef a few weeks ago. It boostes the pressure all the way up to 90 psi. They recommend not exceeding 90 psi. Night and day difference!!! My ro membrane is 3 years old, without the pump it was starting to prodce 2-3 ppm water. With the pump it's back down to 0ppm. Maybe I can squeeze another 6 months out of it :) It only take a couple hours to fill up my 25 gallon trashcan now, as opposed to all night+ with the 40psi. And there is faaaaar less waste water.

Short answer: 40-90 is the range these filter normally opperate "best" at. But they are more efficient, faster, and result in better filtration on the upper range.

ok so i just hooked up my unit and it seems like the gauge isn't working :/. Do you NEED to know the PSI of your unit?

went and bought a new one from home depot its reading 80psi and more importantly i am getting 0 TDS out of the unit :)

That sounds good. 80psi will actually get you better production than is listed. Membranes are rated at 60psi so you should be better off. I use the gauges from Home Depot, Lowes, whatever. It doesn't really matter... Sounds like you're just fine!
