RO-DI unit

I still prefer the vertical DI canister. With horizontal ones, water can bypass the resins over the top of resins bed. I don't see how two DI canisters solve this problem. Get the correctly designed ones from AirWaterIce.com. Typhoon I is $160, same canister configuration.

I researched alot of RO/DI units this week. I settled on the TYPHOON III from airwaterice.com I paid $199, a little more than I wanted, but I think it was a very good choice. I received alot of good replies recommending this unit.

how is the one that is advertised on melev's site?
It's almost identical to AirWaterIce's Typhoon I unit ($160), where there is no bells and whistles. I believe Typhoon uses the best RO membrane (from Dow Chemical), and Melev uses the GE version. I also prefer the Typhoon's filter configuration: 10 micron -> 5 micron -> 1 micron for the best pressure drop. Melev's unit is 5 micron -> 10 micron -> 10 micron.
