RO/DI unit

Saw this topic posted but didn't want to guide the discussion away from the OP question. I'm also buying an RO/DI until, looking at 75gal/day. My concern and lack of knowledge is if this is going to work out well. I'm currently on a well system which runs at relatively low pressure, id have to look when i get home what it is actually running at. Will the RO/DI work well on a low pressure well system? Will the waste water increase with the lack of pressure? Also, with kids/baths/laundry and miscellaneous water usage is this going to greatly increase me running my well dry?

I run mine at 40PSI, which really isn't enough, but with 220 TDS input water it works. You'll probably waste a lot of water, about 4:1.

If you get a booster pump, you'll waste less water. I've read that it's about 1.5/1.75:1 but I don't have any experience with one.

I forgot to mention that many people use the wastewater for other things like washing or watering the garden. It really depends on what your input water contains since after the RO it's concentrated.

If you search Reefcentral and other boards for the user AzDesertRat, his posts answer every question you could have about RODI. He really pushes Spectrapure though, which are great especially if you have a special need, but I think you can get similar quality parts from BRS for less.
