RO/DI unit

I read somewhere in reefcentral about running the water only through DI is ok. Is it true? Are there any down side to this?

Its perfectly fine but it is more pricey becuase your DI cartridge will axahust faster. The RO will take out most of the impurities and the DI will take out the last little bit of impurities so it last much longer in an RO/DI set up. The ever so popular (and effective) Tap Water Purifier is nothing but a DI resin bed.
