RO/DI units

Thats what I have, I got the 150gpd water saver model though...I like how BRS includes parts for various hook ups, whether its to copper pipe, faucet, etc. I got a rodi T fitting though and ran mine off the ice maker line.

I have the water saver model as well... and the chloramine monster and booster pump . Love it!

Make sure you have enough water pressure.

I just ordered the 6 stage 75gpd yesterday. Everything I have read about them was positive and it was significantly cheaper than the competitors

look for coupons online. I started with a 4 stage 150g and soon upped it to a 6 stage. Might as well order some DI resin replacements as well if you don't know what your local water is like. The models with the flush valve and pressure gauge are nice to have.

Thanks all. I ordered one. I actually have a pressure gauge and flush kit from my last unit. I didn't get a TDS monitor which i know is nice to have, but I figure I'll just buy the replacement kits on a regular basis. How often do you all replace cartridges? I was thinking just buy the 6stage replacement package every six months and I'll be good to go.

TDS monitor is essential. It's the only way you know with confidence that your water is 100% 0 TDS. I've had issues where TDS rises to 1-5 within a month of usage and using your model, would have been using bad water for 5 more months.

You will probably go through DI faster than carbon or pre-filter. My city uses chloramine and I use the 1 micron blocks and change those out every 6 months just to be safe (have not had bleed through on waste line yet). At the same time I replace the pre-filter.

During the replacement I disconnect the last carbon block and run 2 tsp of bleach through the empty containers.

I roughly use three DI canisters in a 6 month period. I replace the first DI can with the second and toss the first when it's about 3/4 color changed. Silicates will bleed through the DI at 50% exhaustion fyi.

You can add a TDS meter. I echo 125mph thoughts that there good to have.

YMMV on replacements, it depends on what your producing and your source water.

TDS meter is essential in an RO/DI unit. To think you'll get 6 months of 0 TDS water is a little naive to think. The RO membrane will last the longest. The others will depend on how bad or good the source water is to begin with and without a TDS meter you won't know. You will definitely burn through DI resin the most out of any of them.

I have tried many different DI resins and I have found in my experience the non-color changing last the longest from BRS. I just got 3 months out of one the non-color changing. This is by far the longest of all the different kinds that I have tried. I was having an issue of burning through DI resin every 3-4 weeks tops.

If you have high TDS source water you'll burn through things quicker for sure.
