Well everyone let me start by saying hello to everyone as this is my first post. This site has answered so many of my questions and helped me along SO SO much!!!! It is greatly appreciated. Now on to my question i recently (four hours ago) recieved my ro/di unit from airwaterice got it all hooked up and ready to go turned the water on and let it run for over 2 hours when i checked TDS the first reading was 18 ppm after it ran for about 2.5 hours TDS reading was 160 that really really worries me does anyone have any suggestions on what the problem could be??????

I dunno about worrying about it at this point in time. Check again maybe in a little bit. (only concern if u have fish in tank)

First off, are you sure you are measuring the DI output water? It should be the line connected to the DI filter chamber? Also, what is the RO only TDS at? Depending on your water pressure, water temp, etc. it may take a little longer to start producing clean water. If your RO TDS is low, then its definitely the DI resin that isn't ready yet (kind of like rinsing carbon before using it).

I recently received the same unit and I tested my DI output water and it has zero TDS. There is a worksheet and instructions that come with the unit. I would read it carefully and then after the time specified I would test the water. I have created 100 gallons for the new tank I have coming so I have run a significant amount of water through the unit. I made 10 gallons of water and then dumped it all. Tested the water at output and it was zero.

If you fill out the form after the allotted time described in the directions and it is not up to par I would call Airwaterice and they will take care of the problem.
