I noticed that my TDS was creeping up, and its been over a year since I've changed membranes, so I purchased a new one, identical to the one it replaced.
I'm on well water, which has a TDS around 500. When the RO was new, I could get down to around 2 without DI and 0 with DI. I changed all the prefilters and resin when I added the new membrane.
I ran around 100 gallons of product water through the membrane, and tested the product water both after the membrane and after the DI, and I just can't seem to get below 30 TDS. I though maybe it the membrane was defective, so I purchased a filmtec membrane (added the right sized restrictor), but I still can't get below 20 TDS. I've tried both with and without the pressure pump.
The interesting thing is that I have an entirely different RO system upstairs for drinking water. It is several years old and I get under 10 TDS from the same source water.
Anyone have any ideas what is going on?
