RO Make up water

When new RO water is added to make up for evap/skimming, does anyone add buffers because the RO water before adding salt is about 6-7 PH?

Salt contains sufficient buffers in most cases. Aeration will drive off CO2 to help bring up ph.

I aerate my RO water for 12 hours to drive off CO2, then buffer, then add salt mix. I have found that un-buffered RO water rapes the salt mix of it buffers, resulting in low alk readings. The pH is from excess CO2, not lack of buffers.

How does RO "rape" buffers?
