RO Question

I just got my RO/DI installed, and it's producing water, but at a very slow rate. It will be nothing, then a slow drip or a stream, and then nothing again. The waste water is flowing like every other RO?DI unit I have seen in action. It is a Water General unit, purchased from Filterdirect.com. Anyone have one of these or have an idea why it's so slow? As previously posted, I did have to run the drain and fill lines almost 25 feet to get to the nearest sink. Thanks.

As long as you used pressure rated hose, the distance id not the issue. Are you in an appartment? what is the water pressure like at the faucets? These questions will help troubleshoot.

my water just drips like every second or so ~ by no means a running stream. The way you have yours set up it may have a hump somewhere in the line, a little water backs up then runs down the hump. Just thought. If you are getting about half what it's rated you are probably fine. I think the ratings are based on perfect temp and pressure.

Water pressure, water temp and the makeup of the input water are the three biggest factors in how much water your unit will actually produce (versus what it "should" produce). I have a 100gpd unit, and running cold water in with a TDS around 400 (not sure on pressure) it took me a day and a half to make 65 gallons of RO water.
