RO Question

My neighbor was over and saw my Typhoon III and asked me if an RO system takes out bacteria and other nasties that might be in the water after a hurricane.


I was like I dunno but I know who to ask!

Yup. Although this is not the intent. The RO membrane itself filters out bacteria. I am not sure if the membranes are sterilized before use. If they are not then it would not matter if they filtered out bacteria because there would be/could be bacteria on the product/output side of the membrane. The DI cartridge (after the RO membrane) would not remove the "bugs". If in doubt...boil it.
