I bought one of those water general ro di systems from ebay for 100 dollars. it has been a good unit I have had it for over a year and a half. only thing I have done with it is refilled the di catrages. the tds is 200 going in and it has been 0 coming out but it has slowed down to a very slow drip do I need to replace the ro cartridge? and does one size fit all. I have been looking at the stuff the filter guys have and don't know what to get. I just need a point in the right direction. I do not want to buy a whole new unit.

Get a good 75gpd membrane which are good for ~2 years. The prefilters ae probably clogged too and those should be changed ~6months although I'm guilty of about a year w/o changes and I do a LOT of water. Bad me. While you're ordering a vertical refillable DI add on is good to ge.

will all the membranes fit my system? i have changed my di so that it feeds in a vertcal position. it works well i use the filter guys di too. i planned on getting al the pree filters too.

I changed the guts to my water general unit last Spring...I ordered a 50 gpd Dow membrane, two "guzzler" carbon filters and a new sediment filter plus a couple bags of DI...it was cheaper than a new unit and the 50 gpd membrane gives the best rejection rate while still making a good amount of water.

I used Buckeye Field Supply and the service was top-notch.
