RO Station 8550 Filters

I need to purchase the 8522.120 5 micron sediment filter and the 8550.100 carbon sediment 0.5 micron filter. The hardware stores have 1 micron prefilters and 0.5 micron carbon filters. Will they work? The online stores do not sell Tunze RO filters, thus my inquiry.

BTW, the new osmolator works great. It was available online!!

Hi Alain,

Just avoid anything where the carbon is silver impregnated which is sometimes used for drinking water to kills pathogens, these are usually pricey and will be labeled as such. The carbon and sediment filters are standard so any in this size will fit. I can certainly get some to you if you prefer. We actually now use a 5 micron sediment and 1 micron carbon, they clog less rapidly in this configuration, but the .5 is fine, the flow can just reduce more quickly.

i will take a look at the hardware store and let you know if I am unable to find something suitable.

Your colleague answered another recent post I sent concerning the osmolator. I believe that I had the forst one with the IR sensor. Recently I purchased a new one. It lasted a long time! The new one works great and the new design with the magnet holder works well!!
