My ancient RO system has bit the dust. I didn't think my membrane housing could take one more time being taken apart and put back together, so I knew I was going to have to replace it but it started leaking and made a mess of my wooden countertops. The rest of the unit is inline filters and a metal thingie holding it all together, so I am pretty much looking at buying new. Meanwhile, I guess I'll be hauling water from Wal-Mart.
Anyway... of the various filtration systems I've had (including non-RO), those filter housings are always a bear to deal with and changing is a pain so I tend to put it off. So I'm looking at quick change systems. Easier to change, but filters are more expensive and there is always the possibility they stop making yours.
For those of you who have a quick-change system, are there any other cons I need to think about?
