RO - yes, DI - do I need to ????

My lfs uses a Kent Hi-S RO unit. I have been using their water without issue for one year.

I am on a well, have a refugium in my sump.

Do I need the DI portion?

Also opinions on dual TDS meters or pressure meter to help gauge when to change filters.

I am leaning towards RO unit from Bulk Reef Supply.

thaks

Yeah you probably do need the DI portion.

Get a decent hand held TDS meter and use it to test the TDS after the RO every few months and after each DI stage as well so you know when its time to change media.

A pressure gauge is nice to help you figure out how your prefilters are doing and insure that you have enough pressure going to the membrane for it to work efficiently.

You should check your water pressure before you buy the unit as well so you know if you need a booster pump. If your on well water chances are your looking only at about ~40 psi in the house so a booster may be necessary.
