Anyone know anything about Roadrunner ice melt for magnesium.
The web site calls it a proprietary blend. Its the only mg ice melt I can find in the Cleveland area.

The words "propietary blend" make me worry. I wouldn't buy it without a full disclosure of the ingredients.

Something called a blend would not be appropriate, as it is likely a mixture of two or more different materials, which might include sodium chloride, calcium chloride, and magnesium chloride.

My local Home Depot sells both Dowflake calcium chloride and MAG flake magnesium chloride. My local Ace hardware sells a magnesium chloride product, although not my preferred brand.

Roadrunner contains this:

Roadrunner Ice Melting Compound Contains a proprietary combination of Potassium Chloride, Sodium Chloride,
Calcium Chloride and Magnesium Chloride.

If they carry that, they may have the Prestone Driveway Heat which is from the same company and is just CaCl.

Thanks Hobster! I have been looking for "approved" calcium chloride too and around here i'ts hard to find. So I went to HD to check and sure enough they had it. Thats 1 down. Thanks again
