Roaming Anemones and Wavemaking

I know when anemones are introduced in a tank they can and most likely will move around a lot until they find the right spot. So should any pumps in the tank for alternating circulation be shut down until anchored or should you let the tank run as is so it gets a true read for the flow throughout the day and night?

You better shut em down unless you want fragged Nems. Even when they settle, your gambling now having your pumps covered.

Don't have a nem yet but want to get it anem proofed before I do like you said and frag/dice up my first crack at nems

The only issue with shutting your pumps is that part of the factor that affects where an anemone settles may depend on the flow, and so even if it has chosen a spot and you turn the pump back on again, the anemone might not like it there anymore and once again start moving.
