Howdy got a 55 gallon tank with sump.
Has had 12 lbs of. Cured live rock cycling in it for about a month got the brown Algae growing on the rock hoping the cycle is nearing its end.
Just bought 40 lbs of base live rock from floridaliverock.com came with no paper towels on it... Do not know why they forgot that but i thought it was an industry standard ... Rock had alot of life on it but had the smell of rot so there is ggoing to be alot of die off i guess.. I quarantined it in a 20 gal with a magnum filter and a 1300 gph power head.
After 50% water changes ammonia is shooting to 2.0 ppm in afew hrs.
So. Do not know. About the stuff... Hope it does not all die on me due to there failed packaging it took exactly 49 hrs to get to me from the time it was picked up by FedEx.
Im using instant ocean reef crystals with salinity of 0.25 and keeping the curing tank temp around 80 degrees and in a place with little to no sun light charging 25% of the water everyday but it has only been 2 days.
That's about it with that..
I was wondering if anybody local had some nice live rocks with nice growth on it ? Thx a bunch!
