good morning ladies... ;)

ok lets get this show on the road...:celeb3:

ive had my tank for going on 2 years now. its a 660 odd liter tank (includes sump volume). DT is 510L, 1700x50wx60h. dumb shape i know, but oh well..

i mainly have softies, one or 3 LPS and i had a few sps , but they all died on me (long story short...my water source)

stocking:

sebae clown pair
fire goby
cleaner wrasse
2 lunare wrasses
2 blue mandarins
convict surgeon/tang
yellow tang
scopa tang
niger trigger
bicolour angel
pygmy angel

sump inhabitants:

variuos local hermits, shrimp, etc
marleyi b'fly
Madagascan/pearlscale b'fly
local unknown wrasse

flitration:

running an under rated skimmer atm (reef octo TS2)
large DSB's
chaeto
DIY phosguard reactor

now for the interesting parts....

im changing the water change place.
i want to turn my tank into mainly an SPS dominated reef:celeb1: , but with that i need help :)

im thinking NP pellets ??

oh and im going to get a bigger skimmer:beer:

what can i do to have extremely low nutrients???

weeeellll some pics :)

Get a better skimmer, keep running chaeto, increase water changes, and remove your angels/trigger. That would be my suggestions.

You didn't mention lighting. I would make sure I had sufficient lighting before adding more.

Learning the dance of water parameters and dosing will be your biggest obstacle.

I started SPS and found out how hard it is to keep them from going brown. You need to watch your Alk/Ca/Mg and have it steady all the time.

That trigger is amaizing! You might want to start removing some of your sand when you do water changes, this can be done slowly by sucking it up with siphon.

ok so i got myself a bigger skimmer :) a reef octo xs160. and i just started up a DIY NP reactor last night....

You have some fish that aren't reef safe (Trigger, Angels, possibly the wrasse)
Your flow may be low in the center of the tank, and I haven't seen your lighting info.

Going to SPS requires solid parameters across the board, higher flow and higher lighting reqs than softies.

ok...ive had SPS before, but my tank went through a stage where they started dying (WAS doing water changes from a bad water source)

i also had all thesefish when i had the SPS and i didnt see any nipping of the corals...

lighting:
2 150W MH
2 Giesmann 54w T5's

im also thnking that i may need more flow. there is 5000lph and a 3000lph flow pumps. As well as my mp40

If I were you.....I would go with a mixed reef. why let go of the nice softies in there there are looking good. would start out adding a few of the "easier" SPS learn what they need to be healthy and happy. go slow. maybe ad 2 part to your ATO res.
also that angel I here can be are real PITA. I would ad more cheato to the sump maybe even a ATS to keep perams in check.
look luck. and nice tank!

2 part??

i have been having a slight problem with some of my zoas and paly's of late...they just like start disapearing. those purple and orange paly's in one of the above pics have almost completely died off!! i dont know why

but yeah...mixed reef is what is going to be :)
