Rock Curing

I've have my rock curing for about 3 days now in saltwater. It had been outside for about 5 years. I let it soak in vinegar mixed with rodi water for a day and then soaked in rodi water for a couple days. Now it's in saltwater with heater and power head. Tested today and ammonia is 1 and nitrite .25. I've read so much on here about what to do but if ammonia is up, I don't have to add anything do I? Isn't it starting to cure?

It has begun curing/cycling..
When ammonia and nitrites fall to zero then its basically considered cured/cycled..

You can add a few pinches of flake food or a shrimp from the store or any other organic matter to decompose and rise the ammonia a bit higher but not really necessary..

Note: Are you starting a new tank too? If so you can just add it right into the tank and get it all cycling at the same time if you want..
Or if you are adding it to an established tank wait till its done before adding it there..

Starting new tank but it's not ready so just going to keep in tub until new tank ready. Was in big hurry last tank I had so I'm just taking this one slow!
