Rock Flower Anemones

Ordered these Rock Flower Anemones a couple weeks ago from MySaltWaterFishStore.com. They're really beautiful additions, the pics hardly do them justice. Ended up getting 5 of them for around $150. These are what they consider Ultra RFAs. Easy to care for and they don't move around like other Anemones. They seem to like it on the substrate and half up on a rock. Fun to watch them grab food and eat. I have them primarily located all in the front corner. My other corner is mostly Lobos. Just thought I'd share, if your looking for some colorful easy to care additions to your bottom, worth a try.

So RFAs are becoming quite popular lately in the valley. Are there any negatives to them?

They have the same negatives all nems have. They can sting **** and move around. Though RFA's tend not to move as much as others.

I have 3 RFA's. One is an ultra and it has grown to be about 5" in diameter. The other 2 are about the size of a 50 cent piece. RFA do not split like regular nems. You need to have males and females to get offspring. My plan once my larger tanks are installed is to have a nem dominated 45 gallon cube. I also have 3 BTA's currently in my 45 gallon. My ultra nem will pack up and move every couple of months, but usually settles back into the same location. I guess it needs to go on a vacation and travel, but then comes back home. They are pretty quick to grab food pieces either pellets or frozen.

I haven't had any negative issues with them so far. I broadcast feed Rods food about twice per week and they grab the larger chunks of food that most my fish don't go after. Pretty amazing how quickly they can devour a nice size piece of shrimp tail. My biggest is about 3 inches across, smallest is about an inch. They are always open, even at night. I have a Yasha Goby and Pistol that made their home right near them, no probs with anyone getting eaten so far.
