Rock increase PH?

I have my tanks SG at 1.022 and my PH is reading 8.0. When I add my rock to initiate my cycle, will the rock increase my PH to 8.2?

I don't think it will raise it, but you might want to raise your SG up. This should help.

Rock and sand generally helps keep a stable PH.

My sand isnt live yet and the rock wont be here till next week sometime. The salt did raise it though. Ill add some more to get the SG up and like dave said it should help raise PH.

Natural sea water is 35 ppm which is 1.0265 to 1.027. I keep my SG at 1.0255 to 1.026. I leave a little room for evaporation, because this makes the SG go up. I kept mine at 1.023 for years and just recently raised it.

Isnt it beneficial to match the ocean as close as possible since most sw fish are caught in the ocean?
