Rock slide broke my gigas's shell.

I have a 4 to 5 inch gigas and a falling rock broke a piece off of its shell about the size of a quarter. It does not seem to mind. I guess I am wondering if it will fill in the broken part or will there always be a large dip in its shell.

they lay down new shell from the inside, and build up and out the top. if its chipped along the top rim, it will fill it in but you will always be able to see where it was

I don't remember now where I saw it, but there was a cool pic of someone who had a clam topple and split one half of its shell into two big pieces. He glued up the crack with some epoxy and the clam did just fine after that, the shell looked pretty ugly though...
