I am going to be setting up a 180 gallon tank and i am trying to get some ideas on rock work. I am having trouble finding any and i was wondering if anyone could post some pics of theirs

if you have the time and money, it's not ridiculously expensive, there are great threads in the DIY section for making your own rock. Some really great end looking structures using macro rock and filler foam.

Here's my artificial reef built with Marco Rocks and Great Stuff spray foam...

here is what I'm going to base my next tank on. Its from a tank at the Oceanographic Institute in Monte Carlo.

Hope that helps.

Here's my 180 gallon tank which is currently curing/cycling.

I did the aquascaping using 202 lbs of Bali Alore live rock. Its not cheap, but I think its worth the price

Good Luck! Itay.

Kannins tank looks awesome! When I upgrade to something around 250-300, I want to mimmic that look. Totally awesome.

Heres mine, I just redid it yesterday. The colors dont match yet, but they will....

Just following your thread and thought I would share some pics of my work in progress... I began with pvc substructure and coated parts of it with GreatStuff. I then used epoxy finishing resin and argonite sand to cover the GreatStuff, to make it appear more natural. I am still "tweaking" it.

Itay, is that shelf/plate shaped rock in your tank the Alore as well?

I certainly recognize the rest--looks great, that Alor is sharp...! Nice coralline...

Thank you Todd!

I will have to ask my LFS . I recall it was al Bali Alore, but I'll double check on that just to make sure that the slabs were that kind as well.

Itay.

Correction -- I verified with my LFS -- the slabs are actually Tonga. The rest is Bali Alore, but those large shelf pieces are not.

That's what I figured--have never seen Alor in that shape... Sure looks great when combined though--thanks for checking...
