WHat do u guys think is the best shape rock for mushrooms? I have a rock stick thing and another rock that's ok.
DOes anyone know if they prefer flat rocks or long thin stick rocks? Sounds dumb but I just want them to b happy.

i dont know sabrina, I have a mushroom upside down who seems to be doing just fine :) He is on the flip side of a flat 1cm thick rock that has a larger mushroom on the top side. I can't figure out how to get him off. For now he just extends his base and curves around upward to get light. Fascinating...

I am glad I am not the only one with some weird mushrooms :)
But yes, as it's been said, mushrooms will grow on almost any surface; mine even grow on my glass sometimes.

I got a beautiful little shroom, maybe 2" in diameter, for free with a couple of pieces of LR rubble I bought this afternoon. I expressed interest in the little guy and the LFS owner gave it to me for free. I put it on a rock towards the bottom of my tank where it wouldn't get blown away. Its since moved itself, I think, to the substrate. It is slowly expanding as time passes. Should I try to get the little guy onto some rock or just let it be? I have a finer, sandy substrate, and I can post pics if someone wants. I think I just need to get a true actinic to bring the color out the way it was in the store.

If you can, I would leave it be, because they move in search of more ideal positioning. So, where ever it decides to settle down, it will normally be the happiest according to your conditions.

really? I thought u would have to put it in a box with rubble and a net so it doesn't fly away. I hope my two extra ones don't stay in some dark spot they get trapped in, that is why mine are on a rock with two shells on top of them so they eventually stick.
