Rodi system

I finally got my rodi system. I dont know what my water pressure is yet but it takes about 3 hrs to fill a 5 gallon bucket. Is that about normal with these systems.

24/3 = 8...
8 x 5 =40 gallons per day...
If you have a 50gpd system your a bit slow...if you have 75gpd or more then thats really slow..
Could just be pressure....A simple turn of a bolt on the water pressure regulator in your home could fix that

Or do nothing at all as you say your tank is just 30g.
Yup, a tad slow, but if your just making water for 30g, do ya need more?
I don't store RODI as over a month your TDS can go from 0-30 fast.
I make mix and use in 48.

So it is OK to add under-filtered water? If the RODI unit is underproducing, it is likely under pressured. TDS units to confirm are pretty cheap.

I'm not sure how somewhat lower pressure would result in unfiltered water.
It still must pass the pre-filters, the membrane, and the resin, it's just passing slower. Passing slower at least through the resin is not a bad thing...it's the opposite....passing to fast leads to higher TDS.

Just because you have an RO/DI unit does not mean you have 0 TDS. You need some way of confirming 0 TDS. You can get a hand held meter or they have inline meters. Both work. This will also help you in knowing when the change out the resin.

To add to the above a pressure gauge is also handy. Membranes are best at certain pressures and knowing what your pressure is, can help in producing the cleanest water in the most efficient manor.

That is so true.
TDS meter it then you "know" the performance.

I did some checking and my presure is 45psi when water is running. I bought a Liqugen 5 stage 50 gpd. It says it works best at 50psi so I may have to do something about the presure or add a pump. Its a very nice unit and i have 0tsd i ha e a meter and have checked it. It just takes 3 hrs to fill a 5 gallon bucket and id like to speed that up some if I can.

The only thing I can add to this is I have a Spectrapure 90gpd and my water pressure stayed at about 40. Took almost a day to make 20 gallons of water plus I was using up DI cartridges quickly. Like about 100 gallons and then I'd need to change it. About 2 months ago I FINALLY added a booster pump and the pressure is at about 75 PSI now going into the RODI unit. I make about about 3 gallons an hour now and the DI cartridge has barely started to change color. IMO, the water pressure is very important.
