Final question: I have a RODI unit and recently changed my filters on the system...i was talking to Bob Dale on the saltwater hobbyist page on facebook, and i was telling him about how long its been taking for my unit to fill up a "Brute trash can tank" of water.... he told me his could fill his entire tank in about 1/2 the time mine filled mine about 1/2 full......i turned it on around 11 this morning and my brute canwas about empty...came home at 9pm and it still wasn't full....it was about 90% full though.....how long should it take for this unit to fill this 30-ish gall can??? its a 5 stage-aqua safe system....... Thanks....

my rodi unit has no paperwork or anythign with it that would tell me the gallons per day on it ....thats why i ask.....ThaNKS

If you open the RO membrane it should tell you the gpd on it. That is all that matters. If his is 100gpd and yours is 50 gpd, his will naturally fill up twice as fast as yours. If its a 50g brute trash can, yes it will take all day for your 50gpd to fill it.

Does is have any type of info on it at all? Serial Number , item code or the like?
If it does I'd contact Aqua-Safe to see if you can get some documentation on it. User guide, gph proper psi etc. You could have a 100 gph per day, but if your not running the PSI high enough it's just not going to produce the numbers you want. Also the amount of hose you got plays a part into it as well.

Try and get some info on it from the manufacturer =]

I can fill my 20-gallon ATO tank in as little as 30-40 minutes. Longer, if I forget to shut the stupid water source off and flood the entire sump and laundry rooms, which apparently seems to happen with some regularity, despite the servo shut-off valve which doesn't.

(Recommend having a count-down timer watch that yells at you every 10-minutes when you're 'making water'.)

Shop (wet) vacs are also a good idea to have around, when making RODI.
