RODI Waste water?

There are a number of variables but water temperature and pressure seem to play the biggest role. I think most systems are rated between 1:4 and 1:5 so for every gallon of RO/DI you waste between 4 and 5 gallons to the drain.

This web page says their rodi unit only does 1 1/2 - 2 gallons waste water to 1 gallon production water.

If you want a low waste water system, talk to The Filter Guys and get a good system.

This is my first time getting an RO/DI System, I got one from WaterGeneral....RD-102
Not sure if I have this running correctly but it's taking me forever to fill a 5 Gallon bucket...water just drip..is this normal?

If it is running correctly it should take about an hour to fill a five gallon bucket. Keep in mind though, the colder the water, the slower the production. That is why it is best to have a 4 gallon reserve tank on your system so the RO unit can fill it while you are sleeping and have it ready to go the next day.

My unit is about 1 gallon di water to 2 gallon waste water.

yes, my water comes from a well too.....and I get a lot of waste water, just got it today so I haven't measure how much waste water i'm getting per RO Water....right now I have it hooked in top of the sink I want to put it under the sink but I have copper tubes so I can't really drill it to have the waste water flush...it will be nice it I had a reserve tank not sure how that works, but i'm sure It will automatically stops once full...also, I need to find out how to flush this system or if it automatically does...I haven't read much...
How bad is your well water TDS? If the number is not high and the well is fairly large, you could always feed the waste back into the well and not waste any water. I am assuming the well is large enough that adding the waste back in will not make a huge difference in the lifetime of the tank. You could always run it outside to your yard and it will probably just end up back in the well anyway.

I just made water today and measured the waste water just to see how much I was getting. For every 5 gallon bucket of ro/di water I got 2 "5" gallon buckets of waste. I run it a 60 psi. It is almost a year old. Will need new cartridges soon. Waste amount hasn't changed in the almost a year. It has always been a 2/1 ratio.
