Rodi

The only Walmart water that I have used and have found to be safe is in the gallon jugs. They have a green label and green cap. Other than that I would not trust anywhere else unless you can see them test for TDS right in front of you. Plus the gallon jugs are more expensive than the fish store, but work good in an emergency.

If you go to the auction website, there are a couple dealers in SoCal that sell countertop ro/di units for $50. I have used them for a couple years now and have measured 0 for everything, including tds and heavy metals. The guy I bought from last time sent me 6 2000 gallon membrane/filters for $80 including shipping. With good, no-install filters so inexpensive, why not buy your own?

I didn't mean to sound insulting. I was just meaning they are really cheap and work well and you never have to wonder about the quality of water you are using. BTW, my filter runs 3/4 gallon per minte.

i have heard bad things about the machines outside the wallmarts being filtered through copper or something of that sort and people have lost all their inverts after using those machines. be ware.

I also have my own rodi machine at home, I would never go back to hauling jugs again. i have a 44 gal trash can on wheels that i fill into and mix, and i have a hose long enough to drain the water from my aquarium into my bath tub . The most i have to lift anymore is the salt into the trashcan. its great.
