Roger, Need suggestions for odd tank

Roger,

I'm currently in the process of setting up a 36"L x 18"W x 12"H rimless tide pool biotope type tank. It will be a shallow peninsula style with an end overflow and be viewable from 3 sides and the top.

I'm installing my own overflow and I was thinking of setting it for about 10" of water depth to allow for waves/surges.

I was planning to use two 6055's placed at the end on each side of the overflow, controlled by a 7096 to create a combinatation of waves and current. There will be liverock mounds placed in the middle of tank and shorter ones throughout.

I've thought about the wave box but am not familiar with them and not sure if one would work given my tank/water level or if I could accomplish as much with the two 6055's alone. I've also considered the 6095's but not sure either about those in this application.

I'm open to ideas and suggestions here, please.

I do currently run two 6105's off a 7096 controller in my 90gal reef so I'm familiar with those.

I think your plan is sound, the 6095's probably aren't ideal as the tank isn't really that wide and very shallow. You could create a wave with this set up but you generally don't want wave flow to be your only flow, so it would be best with a third pump and use 2 to make the wave and one for directional flow.
