Rogger Dryer Vent

Rog this is the dryer vent I was telling you about, it mounts on the back of the canapy with the opening pointing up.

Yeah, That one is the same one as the one I use except for I make mine point donw into the water.
I like the electric outlet you did on that , it looks all custom nice!

You think using metal to make a smaller version of that will be effiecent or will it draw heat to it?

I think all the heat would stay within the metal....

As said above I think the metal version would keep more heat as well. The only way I would see using a metal version as being better is if the metal had a high heat dissipation capacity. also most metal versions would probably be made of zinc or cheap aluminium, or some other soft metal alloy. These might corrode in the long run if they a splashed by saltwater. I like this DIY myself and I think I am gonna put some in my ne canopy as well. I saw them at Rogger's house first and thought it was a really cool idea. In his 75 you can actually see it blwing the water.

I didn't even think of the salt corrosion. I knew it was going to contract heat, but this idea was going to be used for pulling the air from the canopy, not pushing it in.

Yeh, the vents work well either way I would imagine, be it pushing or pulling, but in the long term I think plastic would work out better. It has a higher latent heat capactiy and would be more corrosion resistant. PLUS it might come in more inconspicuous colors LOL
