that is the linespot flasher wrasse..p. lineopunctatus..they are easy to keep just like all flasher wrasses...they are reef safe but a tight fitting top is a must they will jump out..that is my favorite flasher that i have kept..i lost mine not too long ago and it took me some time to find that one...i saw one the other day but it was real small so i passed on it..i feed mine mysis, cyclopeze and pellets plus it ate nori as well..here are a few pics of mine..what else do you have in the tank with it??? that is a very nice one you have there

couple pics of it flashing

Not to be confused with the blue flasher, which looks very similar, except for a lunate tail being the most obvious difference...

good point..they are confused quite often

that is a home made specimen cup i made out of a little plastic tank..it is larger than most specimen cups i seen it helps when introducing new fish to the tank

thanks, great pictures... beautiful fish

i saw it on a stockists website but no full name... it said to monitor with shrimp... any problems with that normally?

i had a very nice fire shrimp i saw my lineatus and laboutei take out once but it might have been on its way out i don't know...but that flasher will be fine with shrimp..i have 3 sexy shrimp that chill out in my tank and none of my fairys or flashers have ever gone after them so i would not worry about that at all!!

awesome... i love fairy wrasse and flasher wrasse...

quick question about flasher wrasse males... should you only have 1 of any flasher wrasse species males per tank? is it ok to buy juveniles of other flasher species to house with flashers?

I have a mix of a couple flashers, But one male of each. I wouldnt add multiple males/ Females you can do morte than one.
Also I have a tiny Mc Coskers, and my eightline flasher does not bother him.

i mix flashers i have had a mccoskers, carpenters, filamented, and the linespot all together no problems...like Creetin said only one male of each..male and females are fine though

I am not sure if you have a gap at the back of your tank??? If so, they might land there. I love flasher wrasses!!!!

having trouble getting line spot flasher wrasse...my lfs cant seem to get them, and my tanks kinda waiting on them as i want them in early in my stock list... anyone know where i can get them, and what would be a reasonable price for them? thanks

you just have to look...sometimes i see them in the divers den on LA but i had a hard time finding the one i kept and i just came on it one day at my lfs and it was labeld as a filament flasher...i paid $35 for mine..i seen them go around $35- $50

thanks... saltwaterfish had them as rooster fairy but they have stopped doing them now.... :( ive been looking online for a while now.. will keep going

getting a fiji scotts and a yellow fin fairy on the weekend tho..
