I'm curious if there are rose anemones that are going around that never bubble? The one I have in my tank is amazing... its all bubbled out looks great etc...

but lately all the ones I've seen for sell are stringy long tentacles

I want to pick up another but I'm scared if I buy one of these stringy long type it will never bubble... what do you guys think?

this is what mine looks like now: (just switched to a bigger tank that's why some of the rock is white)

Also here is the picture of the one I was thinking of picking up

do you think it will end up looking like mine or will it always be long tentacles?

i have six rbta and sometimes mine will bubble. im not really sure why some do and some dont. yours looks really nice

no one really knows why they bubble and don't...you would just have to get it and see...I'd say the majority don't bubble, but all can.

About 5 months ago i was given a large rose bubble tip, (about 6.5 inches)and since it has been in my tank it has grown, split and the two have grown to 6.5 inches, But NEVER once have they bubbled.
They still have the coolest colors though.:p

NickinSandy, how long have you had this bubble tip anemone? It seems to be the case that many bubble tip anemones that are bought soon after being collected from the reef still have their bubble tips, but as time goes on in captivity they loose their bubble tips. No one knows why... probably the water chemistry, lighting, water flow or a combination of the three are different in the tank than on the reef that causes them to loose this characteristic. If yours is still fairly new to the tank there is a good chance it will loose it's bubble tips eventually.

I've had mine for about two years.... I raised it from

its always been bubbly =) to be honest I've never seen it not bubbly...

Also... I bought that other one, but the guy kinda shredded it getting it off a rock... so hopefully its ok...

it puked its guts out, and has a bit of a cut foot.... hopefully it will heal up ok? what do you guys think?

Well it attached to a rock that I put with it inside a critter carrier... inside my tank (Didn't want it to roam) but im curious as to how long to let it sit on the rock inside the critter carrier before I trust it in my tank =)? I guess if it roams it will roam.... but my other one has never moved on me sense the day I got it
