rose bubble tip

So far this year mine has had 2 division events, First it split in half (early spring) and one clone split 3 ways last week. From 1 to 4 in a year. Some split more frequently and some less. I think it has everything to do with stress and conditions in the system it is kept. That statement has started debates in the past so I will add that they also do split when conditions are ideal lets say out of happiness. Most don't want to admit theirs are splitting due to stress but stress is the #1 cause for most divisions especially multiple divisions. (side note: it could be minor like a slight rise in temp, salinity or ph and sometimes a large volume water change will stress it into splitting) The ones that split too often and remain very small (I have an example of these to prove it is not a different strain, it is the conditions in which they are kept.) this is caused by something in the system that is stressing the anemone. : )

It really depends on the anemone and the environment that you provide. Some anemones split many times per year and other anemones split once every few years. If the conditions are exceptionally good with perfect water, good light, and high levels of feeding then the anemones will probably split often.

Is your bubble tip splitting? I would love to buy one, but they are so hard to find & expensive when I can find one. Would you be interested in selling?

Yeah... it all depends.

I recently bought one, and as soon as I put it into the tank, it went and hid behind a rock (fairly normal). Then, about 2 weeks later, all of the sudden I had 4 BTA's in my tank.
